Other Sites around Rome
It is difficult to list the all the sites to see in Rome, but here is a list of some of them. Trevi Fountain completed in 1762 is the largest Baroque fountain in the city and one of the most famous fountains in the world. The Fountain of the Four Rivers by Bernini was completed in 1651 and is located in Piazza Navona. The figures represent four major rivers of the four continents through which papal authority had spread: the Nile representing Africa, the Danube representing Europe, the Ganges representing Asia, and the Rio de la Plata representing the Americas. It is said that Bernini positioned the cowering Rio de la Plata River sculpture as if it feared of the church of Sant'Agnese (designed by his rival Borromini) falling on it. The Steps to Piazza del Campidoglio designed by Michelangelo and completed in 1560.
This is just a small taste of the wonders of Rome.
