Kalocsa
I took day trip to Kalocsa where I saw the archiepiscopal cathedral, the archiepiscopal palace, and a horse show (which was the highlight). The cathedral has very nice baroque architecture and a pink and gold interior. Then we went to a horse show where different riding techniques were demonstrated as well as the calmness of the horses when surrounding by cracking whips. When the Turks conquered Hungary the carrying of firearms was prohibited under pain of death. So their resistance developed a technique of whip cracking that sounded like a gun shot and would use it to harass their enemies. It was key to have the horses used to the loud noises so they would not bolt and the Hungarians could make a quick getaway. I recommend going to see the horse show if you have a chance.
