Gibraltar
Gibraltar is a British Overseas Territory located on the southern end of the Iberian Peninsula at the entrance of the Mediterranean. It has an area of 2.6 square miles (6.7 square kilometers) with Spain at its northern border. The Rock of Gibraltar is the only landmark of the region. The city area has a population of almost 30,000 people and an airport that is considered one of the most dangerous in the world due to the highway that runs straight across its only runway.
The Apes of Gibraltar or the Barbary Macaque is the only apes in the European continent and are considered by many to be the top tourist attraction in Gibraltar. Be careful as they will take loose items.
The Great Siege Tunnels are a series of tunnels inside the northern end of the Rock of Gibraltar that were dug out from the solid limestone by the British during the Great Siege of Gibraltar at the end of the 18th century. They are now a tourist attraction.
St Michael's Cave is the name given to a complex of limestone caves located in the Upper Rock Nature Reserve of Gibraltar. The largest chambers, called Cathedral Cave, serves as an auditorium due to the chamber's natural acoustic properties. It has a concrete stage and seating capacity for over 100.
