Brussels
I visited Brussels in 2009 which is perhaps best known for the iconic statue “Manneken Pis” or the “peeing boy”. One surprise when I visited the statue was that they dress up the boy in various costumes from time to time. However there are other things to see. There is the Atomium which was built for the 1958 World’s Fair, the Grand Palace with its row of guild houses, The Church of Mary Magdalene, Galleries of St Hubert which is a beautiful glass roofed arcade, and the Cathedral of Saints Michel and Gudule which was dedicated to the male and female patron saints of Brussels and is done in the gothic style with a beautiful interior.
