Brugge
We visited Brugge in 2009. The historic city center is a UNESCO World Heritage Site because of the medieval architecture. Some sites to visit are Brug Square, Cathedral of Holy Blood with its relics, the Belfry with its 48 bells and market square. The Church of Our Lady with its towering spire and its Michelangelo's Madonna statue is a must see, and it has some nice grassy areas to sit and relax in. The Beguinage was built for the Catholic Order of Beguines and is now a quiet place to reflect. There are boats on the canals that offer rides. Be sure to keep an eye out for the interesting shops windows that front the canal, they are worth looking at. Don't forget to stop at one of the many chocolate shops and buy yourself a treat!
