Taha'a
I visited Taha'a in 2009 and found it a friendly and relaxing place. It is a great to sit in the sun and read a book and recharge. However there is not much to see if you get restless. An island tour of wonderful views, visits to the vanilla farm and pearl farm (to see the black Tahitian Pearls) is about all there is.
Vanilla beans are a vine that the Polynesians traditionally grow around trees. It is important that they get 70% sunlight, not full sun. The "new" vanilla farms are covered in a netting that lets in only 70% sunlight, this allows them to grow many more beans per acre.
